Review on Softcover Sketchbook Heavyweight White Sheets by Kristen Reid

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hooray! I found this! My new favorite sketchbook!

Apparently I really like watercolor. I couldn't find a SketchBook that doesn't buckle for my particular use. I'm also new to watercolor painting, so having a little imperfection in the paper I use is fine for me. So far I'm very happy with this book and will definitely buy more in the future. I think I'll go for a hardcover book next time because the rounded corners of this book give me mixed feelings and I think I want the confidence to just toss it in my bag without a second thought whether it is gentle. However, I really enjoyed this book and will probably order a paperback as well, but maybe in a smaller format and just wrap it with a rubber band. The drawing in the photo isn't finished yet, but I've probably made four different ones already. Ablutions for the sky for the grass and two for the area with trees. I also did about eight coats of paint on the red area and five on the yellow shield. I probably applied about eight coats to the gray shaded areas as well. The book came shriveled and the corners are a bit crumpled but it really isn't the end of the world, the paper is nice and heavy and I am also including a picture of the back of the page so you can see there is absolutely no water there or paint and the back of the page with the red staircase image is fully usable, in fact it is slightly curved from what drew it. and I just turned the book over and closed it when the painting was dry and put a heavy weight on it overnight and it straightened out very well the whole thing doesn't bend and if I keep my eyes closed I can just seeing the difference between the feel of the sheet I painted on and the feel of a sheet that wasn't painted on because I can still feel where my masking liquid is on what I've painted. Also this company if you go to their website I believe there is a link to email them asking for free samples of their paper.
