The power interlock on my 2008 Toyota Highlander stopped working, either because of the power button inside or the key fob. This has happened before but the car was under warranty so Toyota fixed it for $0 but it cost $800 ($350 for parts + labor). The fix didn't cost me $800 so I saw this and thought I'd give it a try for $35. Because of the difference in price, I had doubts as to whether this was the correct part and whether it would work. A few Youtube videos later and the door works great! It's easy to get into Highlander with Youtube and easy to get back out. Two things to note: (1) Remember to put the outer door handle bar back into the groove on the side of the actuator when reassembling. I didn't even know it was there because you can't see it when you take it out and there was no video of the 2008 Highlander. (2) Make sure the wires are tight. One popped out during assembly so I used tape to secure it. Thanks for saving me $800!
