I would give 5 if I based my rating solely on product performance but there are other factors to consider and they don't allow people to give 9/10 stars, it really is a star rating for the product (to me). First, let me start with the only negative point about the WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB SSD for PC - SATA III; Western Digital's website only offers an Acronis True image for cloning your existing drive, and this is a stripped down version that doesn't contain any error messages or logs and doesn't actually scan the original hard drive to report corrupted files. Let me save you some time and hassle on this part - don't go to the wd site and download Acronis. There is free software that does the job better, I have used Macrium Reflect and now I decided to buy it because it does backups much better than MS Win backups and is safe to use. I'm always suspicious of third-party software, but Macrium was recommended by CNET and Trail 30 lets you clone. For 2 days I've been trying to identify the root cause of cloning errors with Acronis by tracking all known issues in different logs. including the WD site. An hour later, Macrium Reflect informed me that I have some corrupt files that need repairing and gave me a command line prompt to repair them. Acronis pretended to clone but never completed any task and then just quit without any message or reason. He didn't even address the issue when I tried to figure out the cause and re-run the clone, but Macrium did. Acronis made me go through the entire setup over and over again. Now for the positive things. This SSD drive is like 1TB of RAM. Windows no longer just loads, it crashes onto the screen at incredible speed. Applications load as if they had never been closed. I do a lot of 3D work and I can easily load a 1 million polygon file in 12 seconds. I no longer have to endure the sound of a raging hard drive while working on 3D models. My 8 year old computer now works like a week old supercomputer. I bought an additional device just for virtual storage and backups. It's just amazing and worth the frustration of cloning, just don't make the same mistake I did, don't use Acronis, use Macrium Reflect.
