The second use the tube leaked. This is the second tube of this product to do this, leaking from the bottom of the tube both times. I "come to terms" with the situation and applied the product from the bent end, but this is inconvenient. When the product is used and the cap is put back on quickly, the product refuses to come out of the hole the next time it is used, even after being unlocked with a nail or screw. I always replace the cap immediately after use, but almost all tubes close the same way. The actual product is fantastic and will not leak if used carefully. Take some time and prepare both surfaces, use a scraper to remove the old gasket material and use alcohol or other solvent to remove any residual oil. Don't overdo it with this product, especially on cooling systems and water pumps. If the surfaces are not carefully prepared, leaks can occur and you will have to disassemble everything a second time, so pay special attention to these surfaces. B. in water pumps that are driven by a toothed belt/chain. Assemble, tighten bolts until product begins to flow from mating surfaces, then wait 45 minutes. up to an hour, and then tighten the bolts to final specifications. For valve covers I mainly use this item for cam ends and rear plugs (Honda) with o-rings. Residual oil must be removed with Brake-Kleen or alcohol for a perfect seal. I still use the original Permatex Gasket Maker which looks like brown resin and has been on the market for 40+ years.
