I usually buy the color RTVs that are currently on sale. Great for oil pans, fumoto oil drain valves, transmission covers, holding gaskets in place, caulking holes in anything, fixing leaks, plumbing, glue, etc. it does it all. Just choose the right color for what you're doing (e.g. high temperature). This time I bought the gray one to use around the tiles on my kitchen counter. The same color the Malaysian guys used when building the table. I usually have red, blue, and black tubes on hand.

The second use the tube leaked. This is the second tube of this product to do this, leaking from the bottom of the tube both times.
