Better than many alternatives

I don't like that most cycling gear requires eight million special tools that you only use once. This is another tool that you can probably use to cut through a headset, handlebars, seatpost, etc., but it makes the job a whole lot easier. Don't expect Park Tool/Snap On quality and tolerances. If you carefully analyze the cut, it won't be exactly perpendicular, so take the time to line it up and triple check. For all of the above scenarios, the cut doesn't have to be perfect, so it doesn't matter, but I think if you buy this tool, you'll appreciate the attention to detail, and then it will be annoying. The guide portion is a little tight/inconsistent, but overall it gets the job done.

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Low maintenance
