Literally does not cope with its main task.

Literally doesn't serve its purpose. It does not cut straight/at a 90 degree angle. I've tried multiple times and got the same consistent, useless results. Now I'm sticking with it as I didn't use it fast enough during the return period. money wasted.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Doesn't fit on everything

A quality saw guide gets the job done.

The device is of good weight and has a high quality appearance. I used it to cut the seat tube to fit a longer dropper to the frame. Clamped securely and made a clean square cut. There may be some use cases where I could see the handle on the clamp mechanism getting in the way. It was close enough that I bumped into it several times while making an incision. You just need to be aware of this and make sure your bracket doesn't come loose halfway through the cut.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Without pistol

Square pipe pieces

I love tools. I'm always looking for 3 qualities: efficiency, ease of use and value. This bike clip guide fits all 3. I ended up choosing it over the competition because it's useful for so many uses. There is a small piece of metal at the top of the saw guide which, if not used, can result in crooked cuts. Maybe it should be bigger and tied to the tool so it can always be used. I will add a video of my usage. The cut I made was perfectly even.

Better than many alternatives

I don't like that most cycling gear requires eight million special tools that you only use once. This is another tool that you can probably use to cut through a headset, handlebars, seatpost, etc., but it makes the job a whole lot easier. Don't expect Park Tool/Snap On quality and tolerances. If you carefully analyze the cut, it won't be exactly perpendicular, so take the time to line it up and triple check. For all of the above scenarios, the cut doesn't have to be perfect, so it doesn't…

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Low maintenance
