An absolute must if you don't have an overflow hole in your sink.

They are indispensable if your sink does not have an overflow hole. Excess water can cause the bowl to overflow onto the floor. The reducer still provides enough water to brush your teeth or wash your hands, but the amount of water that comes out of the faucet goes straight down the drain with no back-up in the sink. Fits perfectly, works great in an old faucet.
