Review on 🚴 Urban 500 Bike Headlights by Light & Motion by Genene Locson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

4.5 Stars - Amazing bike light with small flaws

First of all, this is a great bike light. This is BRIGHT. I rode streets that the cyclist in front of me crossed because they thought the light was the headlight of a car. I like the yellow lights on the side. Pulse mode is great for use on trails where you want cyclists/pediatricians to see you but not blind you, or as a daytime running light. Pulse mode might not be as noticeable as some other hard flashlights, but Pulse is less confusing when driving because you don't get the "stop-start" visual effect. Light is very durable. The sides and front of the barrel are metal. I had a slight pop from my bike when moving at about 20 km/h. I stopped putting it back on my bike and it worked with only minor cosmetic damage (see photo). I'm deducting half a star from the rating for two reasons. 1. The tiny plastic cover covering the micro USB port is not permanently attached to the mount and will fall off (see photo). This means you could potentially expose the USB port to water, dirt, or grime that could get in from the road. It can also fall off during a ride and is so small you won't even notice it. I have no idea why they didn't tape the door to keep it from falling or use a different design. It fell off once when I was charging the flashlight and I had to search for 30 minutes to find it. Now I'm inclined to take risks and not bother to put the door back in place.2. The attachment point is fine but my headlight popped out after hitting a bump once during a ride after making sure the headlight was blocked a few times before starting. It would be better if it was safer and provided a more positive tactile experience when the light went out 100%.
