Tested with iPad Air 2, iPhone Max and iPhone X. 1GB tube from FIOS. Cons... The cable is too short for an absurdly large dongle! Totally useless hanging an iPhone/iPad with this thing underneath, plus an ethernet cable. That's not even enough for kiosk use. Must be at least 3'. There goes a star. They also had to make sure the Lightning connector does more than just charge, since it's technically capable of transferring audio, for example. The positives… With SpeedTest I get 135 Mbit/s and 230 Mbit/s. I've used a few other Lightning/Ethernet adapters from other companies and the best result is 100 up/down. With these adapters, my switch connects to 100BaseT. With this Belkin, my switch shows a gig connection. From my research, Apple says there is no chip that can be plugged into either of these types of adapters to provide gigabit speeds. So don't rely on Belkin's advertised 480 Mbps Ethernet speed. You won't get it! It works over POE, so you don't have to use the Lightning connector to charge if you have a POE switch. Well! Here's how I use it. Charges the Max battery by 30% with 8W. I tried the MacBook Pro's Apple USB-C charger (with light adapter) and got a little more power. We ended up going with a POE+ switch though, since my wife and I use these two Belkin Ethernet adapters in our bed in airplane mode and sometimes our kids with iPads and laptops to reduce EMI. Actually we have our apartment connected to ethernet and no longer use WiFi, hosting guests and turning it off completely at night. several weeks of use. From the reviews I've read about some cheap $20 adapters, they are scams and don't work or fail almost immediately. To combat the short cable I purchased a male to female Lightning extension cable (6ft) with all 8 pins connected and now I can get the adapter out of the way and overall I'm happy. Do not go higher than 10 feet or you will lose charging power. While it would be nice to have speeds in excess of 500Mbps, that's fine for now. I put it in flight mode and my emf is almost zero. Apple - Please Allow Calling, Facetime and Messaging over Ethernet in IOS 13. They had it in IOS 9 and they removed it!
