Bought on seller's recommendation to raise pH even further. Water was tested without a filter (from the tap), with the 1st filter, and then with this additional filter. No appreciable increase in pH is observed. pH strips work and are used on people, not pools. I use them to check my own pH. I wanted this product to increase the pH of the water for health reasons. But I just don't measure what the seller claims.
