This product is very durable and very easy to use. It is stronger and more durable than the Kernel Cutter because it has two rivets on each blade instead of one. Unfortunately, the curved blades are too large in diameter for all but the largest pistons, even when fully compressed so that the ends of the handle touch. After use, at least 1/3 of the corn cob remains on the cob, the rest you have to do with a knife. So it doesn't save much time. If you squeeze the closed end very, very hard, you can make it work a little better, but then the blade won't come anywhere near round. Fixing this by bending the curved blades is nearly impossible. This item was purchased to replace the Kernel Cutter which has the correct blade size but has the other issue that most of the white paint is peeling off so I've probably had whites in the four years it has lasted eaten colored pieces.
