I've had the Roost stand for a couple of years now. As a full-time nomad, I've carried my roost everywhere from the beaches of Mexico to the beaches of Alaska. I've been telling my wife for a long time that I want to buy her the same thing. She finally saw this cheaper version and said she would give it a try at that price. It was knocked off her desk once, and now the tiny piece of plastic holding one side in place has broken. Of course it's their fault, but I have a much better product to compare to - the original Roost Stand. Mine has suffered a lot over the years and still looks and works as good as the day I bought it. If you want to save some money and buy this cheap copy, be careful as it's fragile and probably won't meet the needs of those who need a portable laptop stand. Roost Stand: - It's MUCH heavier - It's a lot less compact. You might think that those two qualities would make it bulkier/more sophisticated, but it turns out that the tiny piece of plastic holding the cradle in place is too fragile and insignificant to withstand much pressure. It's like skipping leg day, bro.
