Pretty funnel. It is dishwasher safe and the fact that the strainer is not attached prevents food residue from sticking to it. However, it should be noted that it is best used for small amounts of liquid. I bought it with the intention of using it to strain the oil from the fryer: about three liters. While the fine mesh filter is ideal for separating particles from oil, it clogs too quickly for my purposes due to its small size. Also, the narrow bottom means the oil drains fairly slowly and the top fills up so much that I have to slow the fill rate to an awkward pace. It takes me about six minutes to sift/pour the oil from the fryer into a bottle. It might not sound like much, but when you keep a pot of butter at counter height for so long! Hook, unbalances the funnel in the container. This means that the funnel must be held or poured VERY gently to avoid knocking it over. I can use it for something and I hope so because it cleans really well and is well built. Until I find something, I'll keep this funnel and use another solution to strain the frying oil.
