This may work well for wine bottles, but for some bottles with a very short neck, such as ring variants that have a cap, the ring is too close to center to seal - you have to lift the cork partway over the bottle to get the ring into the neck of the bottle. (the 1-ring variant doesn't stand a chance either). Therefore, getting them to work with short-necked bottles is problematic. But with full-necked bottles, you can push the cork all the way in, then close the lever and it seals.
