This size is ideal for jewelery making, e.g. B. for stamping rings on an anvil. Its weight is enough to flatten the metal, but the rawhide leaves no tool marks. I love the feel of this hammer - it feels good and is durable and should last for many years. Note: I would recommend preparing the hammer before use. I soaked my head in hot water for 30 minutes until the rawhide was soft, then hit it with a hammer against a clean, smooth rock - it will be very soft at first, then harden as it dries. The work surface obtained with the conditioner breaks quickly in the hammer, giving you the best results in your work.
