This thermometer is abnormal as it does not heat according to the temperature parameters. I started low when I put it in my aquarium. At 76 degrees, that's exactly what I expected. It went up to 82 degrees! I lowered it to 74 and she's at 80 degrees. Excessive temperature fluctuations can easily lead to the death of the fish. Luckily, my marine fish already live in tropical climates, so the temperature spike didn't shake their systems. But for others, please read the reviews before you buy this thermometer so you don't lose your fish and money.
