I rarely review products at Revain although I do buy scientific toys and oddities on a regular basis. Most confuse or exaggerate their properties to a consumer audience who would almost be a scam if sold for commercial or scientific purposes. In this case it is not. This is a highly selective 365nm UV flashlight with serious performance. If you think you've seen a black light before, prepare to be amazed. The emitted light is almost entirely outside the visible spectrum. Using it is like stepping into another world, defined by the chemical makeup of what hits your beam, unaffected by properties in the everyday visible spectrum. Objects 100 feet away that appear to be from another dimension. Light the fluorescent lights through the body of the lantern across the room. Look for greasy fingerprints on clean white walls. Look at the subcutaneous details on your hands as they show through the layers of skin. Show your children the effectiveness of sunscreen (see photos). Just DO NOT shine next to the tray. The build quality is excellent and the inclusion of two cells and a battery charger with circuit protection is very generous. Overall very satisfied and a great tool to uncover the hidden world around us.
