Then, at the suggestion, I saw this cleaner. (Now I know that after a few weeks or a month, the oils in coffee make everything kind of rancid). Oh, the coffee tastes so much better! My grandmother is 89 years old, blind and bedridden. She has no idea what's going on, but the first cup after we've cleaned it, I know she'll say how it tastes. We can take longer breaks between brushes since we now use a separate pot to brew French Vanilla Coffee. This is the powder that you dissolve in 32 oz. warm water and pass the coffee maker. Then rinse 2 or 3 times with clear water. Quite easy. It was worth it.
