Review on Instant Thermometer Backlight Countdown Calibration by Krystal Simmons

Not just for meat best in thermometers and timers

I've had a single sensor thermometer for many years and it has given me a lot more confidence in the kitchen. I tended to overcook or overbake everything—"just wait another minute to make sure it's done," I thought. This probe thermometer has helped me a lot and made me a better roaster and baker. When it broke I had a hard time finding another that I liked just as much. Mainly because apparently they were only calibrated for meat. I also bake bread and want to make sure everything is ok. Thank goodness this thermometer can be used for whatever food you want to put in the oven - two things. If I bake two loaves, I can insert a probe into each. When I bake one thing, I only use one probe. Best of all, it can be set to sound an alarm when the desired maximum temperature is reached. It also has a timer which I don't need but you can use it. The booklet that came with this dual thermometer is one of the best I've seen. It is in color with full and illustrated photos that explain everything. There's a slight learning curve if you've never used a thermometer like this before, and even if you have, it has features others don't. You need to provide two AAA batteries. If you can't tell already, I'm very happy with this product.

Pros
  • thermometers and timers
Cons
  • It's hard to remember but
