The lack of a lock function makes it as good as your eyes at measuring

The fact that this device has no lock function means that once you put the device on the form you get the maximum accuracy. Once removed, the device is subject to movement and is useless as anything other than a curve meter. There, too, measurements appear to be placed at random starting points on the device. This makes obtaining accurate measurements, even on curves, a very difficult task.
