Review on Walker 41727 Pipe Adapter by Travis Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as advertised if you know what to order it works very sturdy

My father and I ran his small auto parts store. When ordering car parts, it is important to know exactly what fits. I got under my car, saw the problem, went into the parts catalog and realized that to repair my system I needed a short repair pipe with a flange that connected to the catalytic converter flange on my 1999 Subaru Outback Legacy. ,, and let me connect it to the end of the resonance tube. The previous owner used cheap parts and the stub-to-flange connection is rusty. This is perfect for the flange. It's hard work and I have no doubt it will last as long as the rest of the exhaust system. I was thrilled to find this item at Revain and went to the manufacturer's online catalog (walkerexhaust) with the Revain part number to confirm the measurements. When it arrived I had to cut it to the required length (due to the type of pipe I'm connecting to I used a stainless flat band clamp). Long story short, the thing has a strong flange, a flat gasket is required. , has an inlet that widens to 2.5" and the end of the tube fits into the end of the new 2" OD tube. If the old pipe has expanded from rust, you can sand it down a bit. You used to go to the parts counter and describe what you wanted and pay for the intelligence of the person helping you. Now either the old part has to be removed and measured, or the right part has to be found via an online parts catalogue, which is difficult with such a generic part. If a part meets its specification and does not fit, it is not a defective part, it is simply the incorrectly ordered part. If this is the part you need, it will serve you well.
