Review on Moen GXP50C Prep Series PRO 0.5 πŸ—‘οΈ HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal with Power Cord by Franz Esquivel

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Cheaper than Insinkerator but requires some work

Great features including power cord, compact design and Insinkerator compatible mounting system. The unit is louder than the 1/2 HP Badger 5, but the real problem for me was a minor one. Splash guard (a black rubber piece that prevents things from being recycled if you don't want them to). It is poorly constructed and prevents water from draining out of the sink (when washing pots/pans etc.). I knew this would drive me crazy so I tried to reuse my Insinkerator fender but it wasn't suitable for moen recycling. I checked some of the negative reviews here on Revain and most of them mention this issue. I called Moen to see if they have an improved design replacement part but unfortunately they don't. I was told that this is not a known issue. In the end I decided to return the Moen device and use the new Badger 5 instead. I recommend buying Moen for things like faucets but not the slide. It's not worth saving $20 to buy over the equivalent insinkerator that sets the standard.
