This did exactly what I needed and the result was an undamaged overtaking crown separated from the fork. I've read a lot of previous reviews and the first thing to do is to use it properly: you don't just twist it together and 'pop' the crown race. You hand tighten it as tight as you can, then flip it over and tap it evenly with a rubber mallet to loosen the crown ring. Since this creates more space between the crown and clevis, repeat the step again. You keep pulling the slack and tightening it to get more buys - I only had to do this a couple of times and I was done. I only gave 4 stars as there is no 100% guarantee that you will get enough under the crown race rim first to start the process.
