Like better than Dicor products

So here's what got me thinking. The RV owner's manuals state not to use thinner or petroleum distillate (lighter fluid or mineral spirits) to clean/prep the roof. They claim that these products damage the roof. Dicor now actually contains mineral spirits to make the sealant malleable when applied and to harden the mineral spirits by essentially evaporating them. It's quite hypocritical for consumer cashiers to not use one type of product and then offer another product with a banned substance as an ingredient. Why is this? Money. All of these products are made by the same organization. Well, I personally think it's bullshit to tell consumers not to think about something and then defend the product with that element in it. Dicor itself is a self-leveling sealant used to seal potential leaks through openings in the roof of a van. Once exposed, it dries out and cracks, which can allow water to seep into your RV and cause you more trouble than you would like. I found this sealer after researching other products they use on concrete. This sealer serves the same purpose and is referred to as a "semi-self-leveling" sealer. It levels out, but not as fast and thin as dikor. This actually forms a thick layer on and around the area to be printed. It doesn't smell like mineral spirits, I can't read the label carefully (it's too small), but it does contain some kind of solvent. It appears to have a nice flexible seal that can take a while to dry out, keeping the camper protected for years. It was a little less than Dikora. I am convinced. I can't confirm how well it holds up or how durable it is, but so far I'm happy with it. To prepare the roof I carefully scraped off any old decor, cleaned the entire surface with a rag and spirits (used sparingly) and applied to seal. So far it seems better. From now on I will be using this product on my van roof in addition to the elastomer sealing tape. This stuff lasts forever. But it seems like a good product. I'll update it in a few years to see how long it lasts.
