I'm not a professional door installer but I'm pretty good with tools and DIY in general. I wanted to mount this on an interior cabinet door that will hold a couple of patient file cabinets, but the back molding (the part that extends the latch) was too long to fit flush with the edge of the door. Parameter. I thought maybe the holes in the door weren't drilled correctly, but after measuring everything looked pretty normal at 2 3/8 inches from the edge of the door to the center of the hole. So I tried another door and same thing. .and then the outer door and the same. Either all the doors in my house aren't drilled correctly, or the dimensions of the locks on this door are inaccurate. 2 1/2 inches. That 1/8 inch doesn't seem like much until you can put the handle in the center of the hole and the door closes properly. works for me, but if you have a different measurement for your door it might work as it expands to 2 3/4 inches. I really like the look and it seemed very durable. I bought it because it was a manual lock without batteries. It was easy to give back.
