I bought these to replace the "Halloween victims" of the original OEM mirrors. They fit perfectly on the doors of my 2007 Chevy Classic 1500. The instructions are useless so don't plan on using them for anything other than junk. If you go to U-Tube to find a mirror replacement video the videos may not be correct for this PU setup (all I could find were the wrong door despite saying it was the correct model and year) for the doors were all very different to anything i could find. It's not particularly difficult to set up, though, and if you have someone to help you with a few things, it's MUCH easier. A NOTICE. Although all the videos I found weren't the doors, they will still help you better understand what you need to do, so you MUST watch them. These mirror sets fit in the door and easily connect to the controller. and work great. They're pretty big. much larger than the original standard OEM mirrors. unless you bought your truck with big ones from the start. When installing on a 2007 Classic, the door panel should NOT come off completely as is commonly believed; I know because I checked both sides last night. Be sure to remove the two center screws, one outside center and one very center under the door handle (small black 7mm screw). The external requires a star socket with a flat bulbous plastic cover that you can snap off that measures 7mm or 8mm, and the middle black socket measures 7mm. The "screw" on the inside is actually just a plastic sliding pin that you carefully pull out. With all screws removed (3), pull the inner center section outwards to flex the door panel outwards and lift and release the clips holding it to the steel door panel. This allows you to pull out the bottom and inner side panel of the door to get a 7mm socket on an approximately 24" extension on the screw that holds the manual switch panel in place. Just a screw and clip hold it in place. It's much easier to see what you need to do if you remove the bottom "pocket" from the door panel. At the very bottom is a black (7mm) screw that you need to loosen to get it out. Then you can easily see what you need to do the two plastic clips that attach the lower door panel to the metal part inside: bend the middle and lift the plastic bars. It's EASY to remove and reinstall new mirror caps, but it's a bit tricky to put a single 7mm screw back into the switch bezel to hold it securely in place when you're done. Two people and a long extension cord make it easy! A man keeps the fairing and wiring harnesses clear with a flashlight in his mouth and puts the bolt back in the hole with a 24-inch attachment. Then put everything together, install the screws and bottom bag, put the foam and snap cover back on the mirror base cover and you are done. The retractable portion of the mirrors is designed for manual operation only. You just pull it lightly and it will pop out about 4 inches longer. Enjoy! Notes 1 & 2: You know there is no help on your own and a 1/4" ratchet extension from 18" to 24" is a problem. An hour of shop labor isn't that expensive just hiring a local mechanic for the installation Well if you give them your parts to do it for you they are NOT responsible for guaranteeing the parts you bring them if they go bad but if you take that risk this is an easy way to get it done quickly.. just a thought :-) #2: mirror alignment the outside edge of the mirror follows the curve of the outside of the door panel so the mirror isn't at right angles to the floor the door folds up and... the mirror sits on top of the curved door so it occupies the same inner jamb. Imagine being able to fit an extra long carpenter's square to the side door of a truck. The door itself will curve in a slight wi bend the corners of the square inwards. Well, mirrors set at such an angle. You can "tighten" the top mounting screw a bit, but you can't really tighten it enough to keep it from bending inward. A small problem to be sure.
