Review on Sense Flex Home Energy Monitor by Jacob Richardson

I had high hopes for Sense. It sounded too perfect to be true, but I tried anyway. The Sense Home Energy Monitor was installed within 2.5 months. During this time, he correctly identified the refrigerator and garage door. The device reported several times that it had found a new device, but 1) the suggested device was incorrect. For example, the device kept detecting "dishwasher" and saying that the dishwasher has been on for a minute. Dishwashers run more than 1 minute, but there is no dishwasher. 2) When the device misidentified the device, it gave me a list of options to choose from. Most options weren't even candidates because they weren't active. From the possible candidates listed, it was difficult to select an option as they were too vague. According to the Sense recommendation I had 4 heaters, 3 fridges and 1 light 3) Another example. No one was home and the system identified "pump" and gave other options like "Saw", "Sewage Pump", "Cut Saw" or "Custom". The first 4 were impossible and "Custom" could not be determined as no one was home when the device was discovered. I hope Sense fixes the bugs as theoretically it would be a great option for power monitoring.
