Doesn't recognize devices

I had high hopes for this and bought two of these for our two panels. After a month I started to lose hope as Sense only recognized a few devices. I tried everything including accessing the Sense network but nothing worked. I could tell the whole house is in use but not individual units as advertised. I looked for competitors and finally settled on Emporia Smart Home Energy Monitor. It was more complicated to install, but it works great and I can see the individual circuits. It even allowed me…

Works great once you set it up.

I bought a Sense Solar. I first asked my electrician to install the system. We have an old house, so I have a main panel and another side panel next to it. The main panel is crammed with cables, leaving very little space. It took many tries before the ports stayed closed when the panel cover was reattached. The technical support informed me very precisely that the connectors were not closed via email, which they sent within 24 hours. After I placed them correctly, the program works great. Your…

GOOD product, EXCELLENT phone app, ERROR packaging

This is a good product that increases personal energy awareness which in turn saves money and benefits the environment. The packaging and marketing is needlessly confusing: the Sense, Sense Flex and Sense Solar are identical, with the latter two containing 4 sensor clips instead of 2. The Flex and Solar versions just add extra sensor clips to service the solar system, or in my case to service two panels per 200 amps. Customer service could not clearly explain this to my request. The paper…

Pretty easy to install, great interface.

Although I was hesitant to spend money on something like this, I got exactly the information I wanted. Energy usage (and how it works) and wanted to be able to track my entire house's usage in real-time to see where I'm using power, to see if my current generator is enough or if I should go for something with more power operation need . My house is in an emergency. (And with that, I'm learning that we could make do with what I already have and save me thousands.) I have a few minor issues that…

Exactly what I was looking for

I need an energy monitor that shows voltage and current (amps). Almost every other device just looks at electricity. This seems to do a great job of figuring out what the various loads are semi-decently. You really need to spend a little time looking at the configuration screen to let it know what you have. The screen tells you something will turn on at xx o'clock and thinks it's A___ or B___ and asks you to confirm. He guesses pretty well, but not always. I would like an option where I could…

Device detection does not work as advertised

I had high hopes for Sense. It sounded too perfect to be true, but I tried anyway. The Sense Home Energy Monitor was installed within 2.5 months. During this time, he correctly identified the refrigerator and garage door. The device reported several times that it had found a new device, but 1) the suggested device was incorrect. For example, the device kept detecting "dishwasher" and saying that the dishwasher has been on for a minute. Dishwashers run more than 1 minute, but there is no…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Other Other

Like many others, I had high hopes. I do a lot of research when buying things to make the most informed decision. In fact, this Sense Flex replaced another energy monitor that came with the Generac ATS panel. The Generac PWRView matched my stock numbers perfectly, but the software was rubbish. This prompted me to purchase Sense Flex. Based on online reviews and Sense's advancements in AI, I chose Sense Flex. and from there it goes down: First of all. I receive the device, open my panel and…
