* Five stars because it fits my needs exactly and you get a lot for your money. My engine (383 stroker sbc) needed cold air. The current air cleaner pulled too much hot air out of the engine bay and the engine knocked horribly when accelerating on a hot day.* I had to drill 4" vent holes (see location). One in the radiator support and one in the inner wheelhouse on the passenger side. There was no room for the second in the supporting wall of the radiator. BTW: I used a 4" hole saw and it worked fine. *So far I feel like I'm getting enough cold air from outside the engine bay. Sounds good too. *Refer to previous complaints I see here and elsewhere referring to the gap between the base plate (which is on top of the carb) and the chrome cap. This is about 1/8" to 3/16" around the circumference. It just doesn't seem like enough given the two massive ones 4" fittings (one of which is powered from the front of the truck). If this becomes an issue on a very hot day, I might proceed with the suggested workaround of installing a rubber hose around the ID of the cap. Chrome. Mine looks good (see photo) but I won't look like a jewelry box either. For the money I think it looks great.* As for utility, time will tell.I'll be back for the dyno.Judge it now after i installed it and see how it works now.
