I measured a 125 Mbps Internet connection on a computer with a wired connection to my router. Remarkably, I was able to get 100% the same WiFi speed with this adapter when I was in the upstairs bedroom and on the other side of the house from the router. Smaller adapters were never better than 1/3 speed, for example 40Mbps was the best a TP-Link AC1900 PCI-Express Dual Band Wireless Adapter with Beamforming Technology (Archer T9E) could do, although that in itself is a great improvement over other adapters I've tried. I suspect the ability to choose the best location for the Asus antenna array has a lot to do with its impressive speed and stability. The problem was solved for a tricky site, saving me $600 from having to hire an electrician to run the wired ethernet.
