Review on Samyang SY12M Ultra Angle Cameras by Vanchay Kokram (.) ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best price for this product, will buy more!

There is a lens with a wider angle on the market, but I chose this one because at this angle there is no hypertrophied perspective distortion. For shooting where a wider angle is needed, I use Samyang 8mm f / 2.8 UMC Fish-eye Sony E (after I edit sometimes, but the perspective is hypertrophied). By the way, fisheye is also a puffy lens. I have been waiting a long time for this lens to appear on sale, as well as the Samyang 10mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS CS Sony-E, which I may also purchase. The subject is well suited for interior shooting, for which it was purchased. When I post a few photos taken with this lens on our furniture site, I will give links to the photos. Pros
  • 1. Nothing backlash, everything turns smoothly, very good workmanship, good design. It's very nice to take it in hand. 2. Light fast. 3. Very compact. 4. Sharp, even on an open hole. The edges of the image are also surprisingly sharp. 5. The distance scale matches the distance to the object being photographed. (The distance must be measured from the object being photographed to the sensor, and not to the front lens of the lens). 6. A very wide shooting angle - 98.5 diagonally, while the image does not have strong distortions inherent in ultra-wides.
Cons
  • 1. Slight chromatic aberrations, as in all widths. 2. Strong vignetting on an open hole (it is no longer observed on a slightly covered hole). 3. A small pillow, but not undulating (this is already a plus).
