My original cover stuck without being able to remove it without destroying it. If this ever happens to you, use a pair of vises to pry off the old outer black portion of the cover, and then once it's removed, use two vises to clamp the walls of the cylinder at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions. . Then use the long bar to insert it between the two screw clamps, then turn counterclockwise to remove the stuck white part. Thread alignment, as does the bearing cap.
