This company is misleading in their listing and does not follow the Uniform Commercial Code when there is a warranty claim. This device (MARINE starter) is supplied unpainted and unprotected. Each mechanic paints the outside of the starter to protect it from corrosion. The old starter was removed and installed by the ship's lead mechanic. The boat was isolated so it wouldn't start. Some time ago the boat was set up for the summer and an attempt to start this engine failed with a horrible noise. A mechanic was called and removed the starter. The tooth broke off right on the Bendix gear. (See the image I've attached). Since the starter was within the *published* 12 month warranty period, I contacted the company through Revain. There was no answer. I then tried calling the company and for a very long time no one answered (on hold) so I wrote directly to the email address of the company which I got a reply from below. Please note that the inquiry about Revain on the 26th What you see under the 31st is the only response I have received from them. Anyhow, be aware that a MARINE starter that comes unpainted will corrode if not properly protected with paint and I will not blame the mechanic for noticing this and the Body painted. This paintwork has absolutely nothing to do with a mechanical failure, apparently resulting from a mechanical component defect. If you look at the picture you can clearly see the broken tooth and what looks like a bad cast. The mechanic also told me when he was filming that the Bendix assembly didn't look new. I mentioned this in an email to them and they didn't address it at all. So as opposed to claiming "100% NEW and made from the highest quality components available" expect a mix of new and used components to fail and if it does, expect a "1 year warranty" within the "warranty" period ". absolutely useless. You end up paying for it, paying for installation, paying for removal, and paying for another launcher from another company, and then paying for installation. COMPANY YOU WANT TO SHOP FROM?
