great product, instructions for 32 bit (silent board) is inaccurate!

BLtouch is a great product but the instructions for the 32-bit board need to be updated. I have emailed my results to the seller who in turn notifies ANTCSLABS. I spent many hours trying to figure out this setup and in the end I realized the instructions are misleading and will drive you crazy. First of all Creality. The BLtouch kit works fine as far as hardware installation goes, but the BLtouch configuration on the 4.2.7 motherboard is extremely inaccurate. Here's what I found out by trying and watching a bunch of YouTube videos, many of which didn't quite cover the topic properly. .First you need a micro SD card to save the settings on the motherboard 4.2.7. After enabling all functions there is not much space left in the EEPROM and you have to save them on the micro SD card or if you turn off the printer, everything will be lost. You need to calibrate the Z settings again. If you forget to specify the Z offsets when the printer was off, print a few millimeters in air. Don't ask me how I know./// How to set up BLtouch after the device is physically installed and connected///==================== = = ====================================== Disconnect the USB cable if it is using connected to the computer, this prevents 3D printers from receiving power from their motherboard. Check BLTOUCH operation and correct installation ======================================== = = ======================= Verify that BLtouch is working properly by moving the nozzle assembly at least 150mm across the bed. We're running an auto reset command and need some vertical space to be able to turn off the printer if the BLtouch doesn't stop moving down when its sensor is touched. action and the nozzle moves down and the BLtouch extends (lowers) its sensor. When the nozzle assembly moves down, lightly touch the BLtouch, the nozzle should stop and then resume the downward movement. Touch the probe again and the nozzle will stop forever. This means the BLtouch is properly connected and will stop when the probe touches the bed. Please note: be prepared to turn off the printer if the nozzle still moves down when you touch the BLtouch! In this case you need to check if the bltouch is properly connected to the motherboard. How to calibrate Z offset ========================================= = = =================== Use the printer control knob to do the following: Select Manage, then restore failover and save the settings. This will erase all previously configured settings so we start with a clean slate. This is a very important step! If some of the old z-offsets are still in the EEPROM and you start optimizing the printer, you could potentially hit the nozzle on the platform since the old z-offsets have not been erased. So restore the failover settings! Note: Make sure a micro SD card is inserted. Automatic printer reset ========================== . automatically returns to where it thinks the Z axis is. now there is a difference of a few millimeters because the BLtouch is a few millimeters higher than the nozzle. This is to ensure that the BLtouch needle does not hit the printed object. So we need to measure this difference and write it down for later use. Find Z Offset ============== =============================== = =================== Select Prepare and then move the axis. Then move Z. Select 1mm and start moving the nozzle down towards the platform. As you get closer to the platform, change the distance to 0.1mm. Slowly use "Move Z" with one hand and move the sheet of paper back and forth until you feel slight resistance with your other hand. You should be able to rock the paper back and forth, but with little resistance. Now stop and write down the value. The value in this picture is my value, your value will be different! This is a negative value between 2.5 and 4mm as the BLtouch sensor is usually much higher in relation to the nozzle and this value varies from printer to printer. . This is the value we need to enter into the Z offset in later steps. To prevent the nozzle from accidentally scratching the bed, select "Prepare". ============================================== = Select the Controller, then Bed Leveling, then the Z-Offset Sensor and enter the value you noted for the Z-Offset you measured in the previous steps. The value is negative (minus, e.g. -003.2mm). The value should normally be between 2.5 and 4mm for the original Creality Bltouch mount. Finally, select Save Settings to save the Z offset! Exit the menu up and then make sure the Z offset settings are correct! Your value should be there! Bed Alignment============ == == ================================ =========== ==== Select Control, then Bed Orientation, then Bed Orientation. The process checks 9 points. After that, the automatic leveling is completed. Change Cura settings for BLtouchIn Cura - select Settings -> Printers -> Manage Printers. : G29 ; (automatic level / grid BLtouch) M500 ; Save the mesh in EEPROM. Click "Close" and close again. Make a test print of Cura! Adjust the Z offset if necessary. Much luck!
