The remote control is unusable beyond 2.5 feet. (≈.76 m). At first I thought I misunderstood the compatibility list on my TCL model (55US57), but after rebooting my entire system I removed the AAA batteries from the remote 3 times to troubleshoot timing issues. It turns out to be another cheap (and pretty ugly) generic copy of the TCL Roku remote. The remote comes in a plastic tag attached with a single piece of tape and has a cut shiny plastic finish leading me to believe this was probably a refurbished unit sold as 'new', which is very bad, if not downright unethical. The plastic IR shield was 1/3 the size of my previous TCL remote that I bought from Revain about 3 years ago and I ended up getting bored with it. I can't find this seller anymore or I would have avoided this whole mess. Thank you for spoiling me. Look elsewhere for a reliable, beautiful, working TCL Roku remote.
