We needed a simple machine so my wife could learn to sew. This is by no means a simple machine, but it was one of the few machines that wasn't all digitally controlled. Every review we've read has talked about the number of issues with the controls. The great thing about this machine is that the manual is written so well that anyone can understand its contents. Very satisfied and my wife is very satisfied. enough said!
