Has Limitations - Streaming Media Player

It doesn't play about 40 percent of my media files. I couldn't find much in common why the file won't play. It plays some mp4 videos and not others. It recognizes my 2 TB USB sticks. It plays all the AVI files I've tried so far, but the HD video hit the mark. My 2TB drives hold between 800 and 900 AVI movies and my HD drives hold around 300,000 HD movies. So one complaint is the OSD, which only shows 10 files and only scrolls one at a time when scrolling. It would be better if they had the option to scroll down to the next 10. A custom option to view more files at once would be very helpful. Because finding a movie buried in the farthest reaches of the alphabet takes too long. Update, I finally figured out why playing lots of HD video files was hit or miss for me. Codecs H264 vs H265. Older HD video downloads were in the H264 codec, so this player plays them well. Recently, the H265 codec has been used more widely because it is twice as efficient as H264. As video streaming becomes more popular, the H265 codec is used to support users who still have a slower internet connection, which is probably 80 percent of us. Therefore, I recommend anyone who downloads a lot of new video content to stay away from digital players. like this one that doesn't play H265 codecs. Manufacturers don't seem interested in being able to update their players. They would rather just sell you another one. This is where the rule of planned obsolescence comes into play.
