Bought this drive for a 21.5" iMac from mid 2011. I first put the SSD in an external FW800/USB 2.0 enclosure and used the Apple Disk Utility with the FW800 to get the GUID (Mac Journaled) and a few seconds later the SSD was ready for a clean install of High Sierra 10.13.6 The macOS installation took about 20 minutes from the FW800 Bootable well as a bootdisk from both Firewire 800 and from USB 2.0 connections. All High Sierra upgrades have since completed without any problems. Let's install the SSD in the optical drive area with a "data doubler" and use the internal 500GB HDD for storage.
