They work great in BBQ forks
I've used them over a wood fire to toast marshmallows, reheat hot dogs and make smoky smoothies. All is well. I found it helpful to bend the prongs together a bit to make them more parallel for hot dogs. This struck me with how strong the metal was; difficult to bend. Bending them wasn't necessary for them to work as advertised and it's just an individual preference. Out of the box they work great. The telescopic handles work well and feel nice and sturdy.
