As someone with severe interior allergies who has experienced tremendous relief with the OEM filter, I can assure you that this filter does little more than let cool air through. Yes it "works" when air is passed through it, but I highly doubt it filters anything significant as I've had fits of sneezing and sinus headaches/drainage issues since I replaced the original on this one and was told it doesn't filter dust . or mold spores, which are good quality HEPA filters. I wouldn't even say it's $20. It is significantly less tight than the OEM and in my opinion is only an optical replacement.
