This filter was a bit tricky - it got stuck on the Dyson block and I had to lower it and it didn't stay in place like my original Dyson and place filter holds. As this is only a one-time install, I have therefore only downgraded the rating by 1 star.

The price of a genuine Dyson filter has skyrocketed. I gave this product a try to see if I could save some money. Compared to the original Dyson filter, this filter is almost indistinguishable. The materials are of high quality and when I look at the filter after a few months of use, I can see that it is doing its job very well.

Takes a while to install, it got stuck in the middle which took 5-10 minutes to figure out how to actually assemble. Not sure if this really works, I have a feeling my Dyson shows orange most of the time. The pass was green most of the time. I turn it on most of the day and open the window most of the time. Only a very small space is opened to air.

Unfortunately, since my last purchase about 6 months ago, there have been minor design changes that have drastically changed the filter. The outer mesh layer is now wider and not as thin as when you first bought it. The seal design has also changed: the Dyson fan cover no longer "clicks" when properly closed and no longer sits flush. RETURN!

As someone with severe interior allergies who has experienced tremendous relief with the OEM filter, I can assure you that this filter does little more than let cool air through. Yes it "works" when air is passed through it, but I highly doubt it filters anything significant as I've had fits of sneezing and sinus headaches/drainage issues since I replaced the original on this one and was told it doesn't filter dust . or mold spores, which are good quality HEPA filters. I never buy aftermarket products but Dyson OEM filters are very expensive so I decided to give this one a try. That agrees with Dyson 99%. It doesn't fit as tightly as a Dyson filter, but once you close the HEPA drawer, it locks in place. Not sure if it will last as long as the OEM and I may update this review once I need to replace it. I see a lot of feedback on here about how good and cheap this filter is, but it absolutely doesn't fit right. Yes, the diameter is similar and looks the same, but the problem is the rubber grommet doesn't snap and doesn't seal properly.
