Review on Stinger BKR200 Bug Zapper Racket by Brenda Garvin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Best flytrap? Zapper bat to be precise.

This is about the third bug bat I've owned. This is a great concept, the large area makes it easier to catch flies - I've been looking at fruit flies. The shape of the bat is handy once you get used to it as you can stick it in the corners of kitchen cabinets and windows etc making it harder for flies to get around the bat. Finally, the fact that it runs on C batteries also helps as my previous racquet used AA batteries and they tend to wear out too quickly. The protective grid cuts in both directions. Yes, it's harder to get electrocuted from accidentally touching the web, but it's also a partial disorder that can send the fly flying away. So in practice the compromise goes both ways, a larger area helps but the safety net allows more flies to escape and for my purposes it's not a good compromise so in the end the performance is pretty average after all. However, it is well made and makes a solid impression.
