Review on 📶 TRENDnet TEW-820AP Black Wireless AC Easy-Upgrader - Upgrade to 5 GHz, Pre-Encrypted, Easy Set-up by Roberto Garrido

UPDATE April 21, 2017 I'm so impressed I've bought a second one. I now have 5GHz throughout the house. All use the same SSID. Mobility without problems. Congested 2.4GHz spectrum (due to neighboring neighbors) is disabled on my router. Our network is now not visible far beyond our property due to the higher frequency, which is a plus. I am increasing the stars for this product to five. ORIGINAL review Im impressed so far. It immediately heard nearby channels in use and tuned far into the spectrum. My advice is to give it a static IP address before doing any other configuration. Since doing this I haven't had any more problems. Don't buy this if you don't already have a router. Buy this device if: a) you have a router that does not provide wireless connectivity, b) you have a 2.4GHz only router and live in a densely populated area, c) you want to extend the wireless coverage area, but not I don't want to use a repeater. This device works well to extend the coverage of your wireless network as a bridge (AP mode). It is not recommended to use it or any other device as a repeater. This device does not need to be directly connected to the router (search for powerline ethernet).
