It snapped onto the base very easily and makes a nice little tray to keep earrings that are worn frequently. It's really bright, but you can hold down the button to dim it as little or as much as you like. If you're stuck with conspicuously low settings, you might end up with something in between. You can use batteries if you want, or it has a plug and cord to be more eco-friendly. I don't have an outlet where I use it so I use a battery for power, it works great! It folds easily and looks good.
