Review on Dual Function Repair Station - Aoyue 950+ Model by Albert Dorsett
A disappointment for my opinion
I've bought and used several tools from Aoyue. Generally I expect a tool that more of less gets the job done for a fraction of the price of what I would get from Weller of Hakko. Not the case here. The price is low yes, but the tool is just awful. The temperature on my unit was WAY off, and the fine tips out of the box will not transfer enough heat to even remove a 1210 capacitor in less then 10 or so seconds (yes after heat adjustment). Now optionally you can use the flat tips which transfer much more heat, but these suckers are gigantic. My advice if you need to pull off small parts from your PCBs either buy a second iron and dual wield like a champ, or save up for a name brand solution.
