I purchased this item and later found that it did the same job as a much cheaper item available at your local hardware store is (see photo). A 2" plug from your local hardware store costs about 50% less than this item including shipping and is longer to provide more surface area for a secure connection. A 2" connector is available from Revain (ASIN B00HZSGWLG). The 2" coupling has an inner diameter of just under 2.5" and is called a 2" because it is designed to fit 2" NPT (National Pipe Thread) tubing, so the sizing guidelines are the same Trend to confuse this obvious substitute.
