Man, that thing is BRIGHT! I have another Strion that is a few years old that is around 260-300 lumens and I love it. Received this and found it to be a "High Lumen" model at 500 lumens! It works great on my old charger and is insanely bright! I have a 1000 lumen artificial light and it doesn't seem to get much brighter, if at all. Many cheap flashlights overestimate their lumens for wow factor. Streamlight rates its lights correctly. My old Strion and even older Stinger LED DS are still as powerful and reliable as can be. I just needed one more light for the house. Streamlight makes very durable lights for the money, you can't go wrong with them. The main reason I prefer Streamlight over other brands like Surefire is because A: they are more affordable than horns like Surefire and B: they are rechargeable. No need to buy insanely expensive CR123 batteries every few weeks.
