I wear a 6 usually but these were snug and snug at the calves. broke my heart to return them. they are stunning and I think these would work through spring and again in the fall. they are surprising quality, don't know where the bad reviews came from because mine came and looked like they were 200$ boots. I was very very happy with them but they were just a little snug. I'll probably order a pair again after I've lost a little weight. if you have wider calves go up a size
