Review on 🔥 DIMPLEX Revillusion 20-Inch Electric Fireplace Log Set with Ashmat - Black, model DLG920 by Ryan Cross

After we switched to solar energy, we wanted to reduce gas consumption in the house. We did not use our gas fireplace as it was painful and expensive with current natural gas prices. I replaced my gas magazines with these and my kids couldn't figure out that it wasn't real fire. You can of course see the plastic reflector, but when it's installed in the chimney it's not as visible and we've left a wire guard on the front to reduce reflection. It generates a good amount of heat and the fan isn't too loud. I also think it's good that you can operate it without heat, which is good for the atmosphere and only uses about 30-40 watts. What can be improved? I would like to put this on a timer or schedule or even connect it to Alexa. It would be great to have a thermostat to turn on - it turns on when the temp drops and off when the temp is above set point like my other heaters. It would be great if it turned on automatically in the evening and turned off at a certain time. I would connect it to a smart switch but I can't because it resets to defaults after disconnecting. Besides, the remote control is small and black and easy to lose. Turn on the Alexa integration and I'll be up to speed in no time, but at this point I think this is probably one of the best "fake" fireplace logs out there.
